so it's been a while. where have I been, what have I been doing, what swag has come upon me?

well, there's been a lot, but I'll start with the more important and go from there...

my record label birdhouse home recordings is proud to announce our first physical run! "Yes! I Am Now Kaiju!" by Kaiju The Cat (aka Pigeon Scratch) is out now on CD and cassette! a mockup of a CD placed in front of a cloudy skyline. a mockup of a cassette tape placed in front of a cloudy skyline. these can be purchased at it's Bandcamp, link embeded in the images! every Bandcamp Friday we also sell them at 10% off! tapes are also almost sold out, so get them while they're hot! we are super proud of how they came out, and hope you enjoy them. long live furry post-rock!
my mutual/friend j (you may know her from the band glass beach) has also put out a new project titled "you are an angel", or yaaa for short! it's amazing and emotional and makes me cry and you should buy it asap. physicals for it soon. the cover art to the indie album its fine to dream by you are an angel. it depicts a pair of strange animals and two angels looking at a star shaped carving in the ground, similar shaped stars in the sky.
I've also gotten back into photography, and there's new additions to my art in its respective section on my website. so for those interested, you can view them in the hyperlink provided!
more good news is that after 6 years of job searching, I've finally found a place in close proximity to myself that was willing to hire! that's right, my dumbass is no longer only self-employed. this will help fund future projects as well as just general quality of life. many thanks to my friends who've helped me along the way to get to this point! I'm still very burnt about the current state of the job market, all these companies complaining that "nobody wants to work" while never hiring, making fake job listings, doing constant layoffs and firings... it's disgusting, and has only gotten worse under the second Trump term. lets also not forget that 90% of remote jobs are being replaced by AI that do objectively worse jobs... but I'm not here to doom post. this is definitely a time to celebrate, especailly since I enjoy my current employment!
finally, hopefully this month I will have two new essays posted here, one on the new Red Vox record and the other on my rocky relationship with fandom. I hope you'll all enjoy that when they release. thanks for your patience and time.
